Ivy Lawn Memorial MainteNance Building
Behr Browers Architects was both the master plan and design architect for this Historical Memorial Park in the city of Ventura, California. These new Maintenance and Crematory buildings were designed to incorporate many state of the art sustainable features. In addition to photovoltaics that serve the entire Park facilities and a water harvesting systems that provides all the water for the restroom and irrigation demands of the new structures, both buildings also provide extensive daylight and natural ventilation systems. The new maintenance facility provides much-needed repair, storage and support space for the grounds crew. The new Crematorium provides for a more humane and compassionate experience for family's who chose this path for their loved one burial. The Crematorium building was relocated to free up the older facility for a new use and so as to have direct access to support activities while still facing and being in the rest of the Park.
